I’ve had a Gaiam mat for 2-3 years with no damage, slipping, or issues with grip. The new mat is just as good and seems like it will last. It’s a good value for the price. I love the size of this yoga mat – it’s larger than most, giving me extra room to move around. The wider width and nice cushioning make it comfortable to use. While it sacrifices a bit of stability for the cushioning, I appreciate the support for my older body. This mat makes me excited for my workouts, especially for my morning yoga and Five Tibetan Rites routine.

This mat fulfills the first two criteria exceptionally well. The thickness is just enough; not too soft, not hard and thin. It doesn’t easily get slippery with sweat whereas the rental mats at the studio do. And it is double-sided. Highly recommended for these reasons. The only large problem is its durability. Pros: The beautiful colors and perfect thickness make this mat great for both home and studio use. It has held up well with no tears or stretching, and even my dog loves it.
Cons: It can be a bit slippery, especially for sweaty hands, but the slipperiness has improved over time. Cleaning with coarse salt and detergent helped initially, but the lighter colored side can show dirt stains. However, they are easy to wash off.
