I appreciate how well it functions, its lightweight design, and how easily it folds.

Upon opening the package, I was greeted with a strong unpleasant odor and discovered numerous bugs on the tatami.

The tatami mats have a very solid feel and are lightweight, resembling actual tatami floors. Upon opening, there is a strong rush grass smell that I find pleasantly natural, reminiscent of bamboo leaf when steamed. Some reviews mention a chemical smell, but it actually just smells like grass. The rush grass part has slightly faded edges, but overall, it is mostly a fresh green color. For the price paid, I am very happy with this purchase.

I am even more pleased with this product than I expected. It is lightweight, sturdy, folds nicely for carrying, comes with a zippable carry-case, has a pleasant natural smell, and shows great attention to detail in its workmanship. I found it comfortable under my sleeping bag and look forward to even more comfort when my shikibuton arrives. I considered buying a more expensive one from a different company but I am glad I didn’t.

The tatami mat is great and comfortable. It has a strong grass smell initially but airs out after a few days. The quality is good with a greenish color that may turn more yellow over time. It is lightweight, firm, and insulates well against the cold floor. Sleeping on it is surprisingly comfortable, with little adjustment needed. It’s easy to store and provides a satisfying sleeping experience. Despite the high price, I am very happy with this mat.
