The foot opening is only about 2 inches around despite being labeled as XL. The top material is cheap and see-through. As shown in the photo, the opening is as small as a baby sock.

We purchased these for my dad who is homebound post-surgery due to our hardwood floors. He adores them! (And he despises ankle socks haha). The cushioning is excellent, they are comfy, and have superior non-slip grip compared to hospital socks! The only drawback is they run slightly small, so consider going up a size or two to account for shrinkage when washing/drying.
