13 reviews for Merrell Men’s Trail Glove 5 Sneaker

  1. Mirko

Comfortable and precise shoe, suitable for dry and compact surfaces. Not very durable when subjected to repeated stress on the side of the upper, where it tends to tear after about 300 km. On the inner part of the upper, it is abrasive on the big toe joint, causing abrasions and blisters if worn without socks for long distances.

  2. John

I really liked these sneakers, but unfortunately there was a manufacturer defect with some spots on the toes and the sole slightly separated from the shoe. The seller offered a full refund since they didn’t have my size for an exchange. Hopefully, I can find my size again!

  3. K. Dowd

Fits half a size small. Otherwise, great shoe.

  4. Paul3

While some reviews criticize these sneakers, I actually enjoy them. They fit well, are comfortable, and seem to have the reliable Merrell quality. The toe box is spacious, they offer more support than the vapor glove series, and they look good. I prefer solid colors, but since I mainly use them for the gym, it’s not a big deal. I am a fan and will continue to purchase them as my barefoot option.

  5. Chris

Good shoes overall, but the laces are uncomfortable on the top of my feet even when tied loosely. Experienced discomfort after 10+ miles.

  6. Logan Kellogg

Fantastic shoes! Order half size smaller. I typically wear 11-1/2 but the 11 fits perfectly. This is my second pair and I’ll keep purchasing these.

  7. Jebin Olberg

I bought these shoes a half size smaller than usual and they fit perfectly. I love the spacious toe box and the barefoot feel. They are incredibly light and comfortable. I recently wore them on a 12-mile hike and my feet felt great. I was worried about traction on the trails, but they performed well. I don’t understand the complaints about high arch support as I have flat feet and didn’t notice it. It’s important to get a half size smaller as suggested in other reviews to avoid discomfort….

  8. Barbon

They didn’t even last 7 months using them as street shoes about 4 days a week, the mesh has completely torn in the inner flex area right along the reinforcement part. The rest of the shoe is intact, with hardly any wear on the sole. Such a shame.

  9. Ruben Lewis

For my first pair of Merrells, I expected them to last longer. I’ve had mine since September and they’re already worn out. However, they are pretty good for training in the gym.

  10. oliver weston

I purchased these shoes to experience barefoot walking and tested them out on a trip to Wales. I have walked 35 miles in three days, including climbing rocks and Snowdon. They have been fantastic, and I highly recommend them to anyone seeking the barefoot experience.

  11. Paul Jacobs

I have worn Merrell shoes exclusively for the last 10 years due to their excellent fit for my wide feet. However, this particular pair was too narrow for me so I returned them.

  12. Daniel Stern

Bought these shoes for improved grip on my mountain bike pedals and used them for a rocky hike as well. They worked great for both activities. The soles gripped the rocks on the hike and the treads kept my feet secure on the rooty/rocky terrain during my bike ride.

  13. Sane Constantine-Xavier

I bought these shoes 2 years ago and they have been great for daily use, averaging 5KM per day over that time (3650km total). Unfortunately, I had an accident that damaged them, so I bought a new pair of the same ones. I believe my old pair could have lasted another year or more. Definitely worth the investment. Some people mentioned the width being narrow, but I have wide feet and didn’t find it to be a big issue. After wearing them for a couple of weeks, they become more comfortable.
