I enjoy hot yoga and needed a towel to absorb the excess sweat. I rate this towel 4 out of 5. It is effective in absorbing sweat without being too thick. However, I find it too slippery compared to my mat if the class isn’t very sweaty. Overall, it’s best for extra sweaty classes.

I read the reviews that said it works well if you sweat a lot, but I decided to give it a try. I should have listened! This Gaiam mat towel doesn’t grip the mat at all, so whether wet or dry, it shifts a lot during pose changes. I’ve used it in Bikram and Vinyasa classes, but it’s just not practical. I use this to cover my mat during hot yoga. Initially a bit slippery, but I just wet the spots where my hands and feet go until sweat drips. It absorbs sweat well and stays in place.
