Our first experience with this mat was that the cork is more slippery than our rubber mats. In the end, we decided to return them as we didn’t feel comfortable with the mat after using it a couple of times, as it is also somewhat narrow. I really like this mat. It’s thick, longer, wider, and the alignment lines are great. I don’t slip on it at all. It’s perfect for home use. It is heavy, so not ideal for carrying long distances. However, for studio or home practice, the weight adds to its sturdiness.
