      Simple to operate and highly dependable item. Utilized it multiple times on a road trip to fasten my race paddleboard. The straps are lengthy and the locking mechanism functions effectively! I would certainly recommend it.

      We are new to kayaking and wanted to explore beyond our local area. These kayak protectors have provided peace of mind. Although they were a bit pricier than expected, we trust the Thule brand. We plan to change the lock cylinders to match our crossbars and J-Bars.

      Works well for its intended use. The cable in the strap is a bit small and could most likely be cut, but it serves as a good deterrent.

      The product is well constructed, but it is difficult to handle any remaining strapping due to its core. Both the 10-foot and 12-foot lengths were too unwieldy. I returned both sizes and opted for the Thule 9-foot straps instead, using my own makeshift lock system.

      The product did not come with a key, which we discovered while preparing for our camping trip. It is frustrating that no key was included, as we are now delayed for our trip. These straps are expensive and unusable without a key. Do not waste your time and money on them.

      I purchased two different brands of lockable kayak straps, and both started fraying after a few uses. I decided to give Thule a try, and I absolutely love them. They are very well built and incredibly easy to use. I use Nite-eze ties to secure the extra length to avoid tying them, which I believe will help them last longer.

      This product is easy to use. I used it to secure my paddle board on the roof of my car and store it on a kayak holder. The straps are durable. I’m giving it a 4 because the plastic cover fell off the first time I used it, but I was able to reattach it. The key insert must be perfectly straight for the key to fit. It can be awkward to reach the lock for someone short like me (5’1″). The strap is thick, which is a pro for durability and safety, but it’s not as easy to throw over the car…

      The straps are lockable and all 4 use the same key when purchased together. Covered in rubber/soft plastic to prevent scratching, they hold up well under the forces from a kayak on the car at highway speeds without wear. I prefer these over my friends’ straps from other brands.

      There are numerous positive reviews highlighting the pros and cons of this product already. It is evident that the lock could be easily picked by someone with the knowledge or the cable cut with bolt cutters. Despite these limitations, it is a very nice strap overall. The padding provides good protection for the secured items, and the tightening and locking mechanism are user-friendly. I use these straps to secure my load while traveling and deter any opportunistic theft. The Thule straps…

      This product is durable and user-friendly. The simple design is excellent. It gives us peace of mind knowing we can leave our paddle board and kayaks locked on the car overnight for our next day out. We even purchased a set for our daughter and highly recommend the straps to anyone who asks. Buy these :-). PS. We live in the mountains where we can leave our SUPs on our car!
