      I bought this futon over 3 months ago and have been using it as my main sleeping surface. I’ve followed the care recommendations and it’s holding up well without any noticeable compression. Initially, there was a grassy smell, but it dissipated quickly. It’s comfortable for back sleepers, but may not be ideal for side sleepers or those who move a lot during the night.       Updated Review (8/14/15): I separated my two shikibutons so my son could sleep on the tri-fold while I used the roll-up. The tri-fold was too hard to sleep on comfortably, even for me who prefers firm mattresses. I slept on the roll-up alone for part of the night, finding it firm but comfortable.       The picture doesn’t accurately show the size, it’s about 4-5 inches thick. It feels overstuffed and very firm, but not uncomfortable. It’s a bit heavy when trying to store it on a high shelf.
