Before I tell you how amazing these shoes are, here’s a little background info. I’m a tall female at 6’1 and wear a size 12 or 13 wide width women’s shoe. It’s so hard to find nice shoes that fit well and don’t look like boats. Most women’s shoes only go up to size 11M, so it’s tough for me. I usually end up buying men’s shoes, but I wish I could wear something more feminine. I also deal with occasional swollen feet.

I have been using these sneakers for about five years now, and since then, the muscle and joint pains I had have been disappearing. At first, they are uncomfortable to wear. But once you get used to them, as your foot strengthens, it’s like walking with the most comfortable footwear in the world. The stride corrects itself, and with that, a lot of postural and joint problems in the body.

I am now on my second pair of these and third pair of Vibrams overall. I noticed a size difference between my old pair and these, so make sure to measure your feet accurately. The soles wear out quickly, especially at the balls of the feet, which is disappointing for such an expensive shoe. I had to exchange sizes twice to get the right fit. I have resorted to using them only on the treadmill as they wear out too quickly for outdoor use. Repair attempts with Shoe Goo and patches were not…

The size 8 fit me really well despite being slightly larger than ideal. I’ve worn them at the gym for 6 months, working out 4 times a week. They are comfortable and I got used to the fit quickly. They show little wear and tear and are not very warm, so I recommend wearing toe socks in colder weather. They are somewhat water-resistant. I also found them great for my sim-racing setup at home. I will buy another pair in the future.

I have worn out several Five Fingers as running shoes. The KMD (formerly Komodo) was offered here as an indoor shoe. I still took the risk of ordering it as a running shoe because I knew the Komodo from before and they were perfect for running. I was not disappointed, the KMD is still a great running toe shoe. This is my second pair of Vibrams. The first pair was too narrow. Although size 43 fit the length of my feet perfectly, they were too tight, so I had to return them for a size up. These black and silver Vibrams fit mostly well, with a little room in the toe slots which I don’t prefer, but it’s better to wear a bigger size than a smaller one. I own several pairs of Vibram, and this is my favorite all-around shoe for the gym, going places, etc. They blend in well but strike up so many conversations once people notice what I can do with my feet after wearing these types of shoes for years. They make a lot of difference vs. regular shoes. This pair, as I said, is my favorite and fits true to size like other Vibrams.
